For practice I tried out a few stills of egg being cracked and fried. The main problem I found when trying to take the photo was the awkward positioning. Taking the shot from the side meant that part of the subject's arm was in the way of the shot. When filming I think it would be best if we had our actress cracking the egg around the camera to achieve a comfortable angle.
The still of the egg being fried worked relatively well, mainly because there is no motion in the shot. To accomplish the diegetic sounds that we want, we will make sure that the oil is really hot to create some "sizzling" sounds.
The "toast popping" was also easy to capture, because, again, the shot had no action. However when actually shooting we will have to time how long the toast actually "pops" and then try to portray that movement on film. To make sure that we have no background noise, we will probably set up the camera and then walk away to achieve maximum success of diegetic sound.
We will probably include a shot of the egg being put on the toast. Hopefully the yolk will not break whilst filming, because a whole yolk would be more atheistically pleasing to an audience. We may have to practice this action a couple of times.
